2026 Water and the Word Conference For Jesus' Sake Resources

On May 1 & 2, more than 200 people from across the diocese gathered for the Water and the Word Conference, where they immersed themselves in the lesson of 2 Corinthians while learning and dreaming about the future of the church in Southwest Florida.

Opening with worship and discussion, For We Do Not Proclaim Ourselves. Why Discipleship. Why Now. between Bishop Doug Scharf, Bishop Phyllis Spiegel, and Bishop Brian Prior, the conference continued through Saturday night, offering four plenaries, five workshops, and interactive prayer spaces grounded in the Diocesan Four Pathways: Forming Disciples, Transforming Communities, Embracing Differences, and Developing Leaders.
